The Meridian Bridge turned 100 years old on Saturday and to celebrate, there was a dedication ceremony held at Riverside Park.
Among those in attendance were the Lieutenant Governors of both South Dakota and Nebraska.
Lt. Governor, Larry Rhoden, of South Dakota says that a landmark like the Meridian Bridge embodies the spirit of the Midwest.
Lt. Governor, Joe Kelly, of Nebraska, says that he was honored to speak at the bridge dedication ceremony.
State historian, Dr. Ben Jones, District 18 Representative, Mike Stevens, and Yankton Mayor, Mason Schramm, were also among those that spoke at the Meridian Bridge Dedication Ceremony.
