Yankton Gazelles Soccer had a pair of players earn ESD Conference honors following the 2024 season.
Sophomore Midfielder Eden Wolfgram was selected as a member of the All-ESD team, while Senior Defender Chloe Foote was chosen as an All-ESD Honorable Mention.
Both Wolfgram and Foote helped lead Yankton to an 8-5-2 overall record and a playoff berth.
Yankton Bucks Junior Forward Jack Pedersen has been selected as an ESD All-Conference Honoree.
Pedersen and the Bucks finished 2024 with a 2-11-1 overall record and missed out on the postseason.
Yankton Gazelles Volleyball fell to Pierre last night, three sets to one the state capital.
The Gazelles claimed set one 29-27, before Pierre won the next three sets 25-19, 25-21, and 25-19 to win the match.
Yankton, now 3-15 on the year, return home for their next match, as they host Beresford on Monday inside the Summit Activities Center.
Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Cross Country were in action in Huron last night, with the Bucks placing 2nd as a team and the Gazelles taking home 5th.
For the Bucks, Bryton Olson led the way, finishing 5th with a time of 17:38.39. Also for the Bucks, Kaden Hunhoff placed 15th, Gabe Rock placed 16th, Dylan Kirchner finished 20th, Luke Jacobson finished 21st, Isaac Larrington took 25th, and Lucas Feimer placed 36th.
For the Gazelles, Gwen Richter placed 7th, Abby Johanneson placed 10th, Delaney Youmans placed 26th, Sophie Petheram placed 29th, Ava Johanneson finished 32nd, Mary Rounds placed 37th, Kahlen Peterson finished 41st, Addi Muth took 57th, and Bailey Mines placed 60th.
Next for Yankton Cross Country is the State Meet on October 26th in Rapid City.
Yankton Competitive Cheer and Dance were in Brandon last night for the ESD Conference Meet.
Yankton finished 3rd overall in Dance with a score of 260.5. Yankton’s highest event score was 262 in Jazz to take 3rd, but their best placement was 2nd in Pom with a 259.
Yankton placed 6th in Cheer with a score of 217. Harrisburg claimed the top spot at 290.
Next up for competitive cheer and dance in the State Meet in Rapid City on October 26th.
Yankton Bucks Football is on the road tonight to take on the Tea Area Titans with an early kickoff of 6:35 PM.
Yankton is the #1 team in the latest Class 11-AA Media Polls and is tied with Watertown for 1st in the seed points standings.

The South Dakota Coyotes are on the road tomorrow, taking on Youngstown State in Youngstown, Ohio.
The Coyotes are the #4 team in the latest FCS Polls coming off a 42-17 win over UNI last week.
Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 PM tomorrow night.
The South Dakota State Jackrabbits hit the road tomorrow to take on the North Dakota State Bison in Fargo, ND.
Tomorrow’s matchup will be a battle of the top 2 teams in the country, with SDSU ranked at #1 and NDSU at #2.
Kickoff from Fargo is scheduled for 7:00 PM tomorrow night.
The Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats moved to 7-1 on the year with a 34-20 win over Bloomfield last night.
Last night’s game was the last of the regular season for the Wildcats. Hartington-Newcastle are currently 2nd in Class D1-District 3, behind the Crofton Warriors.
