Yankton Gazelles Volleyball swept the Tea Area Titans last night, three sets to zero in Tea.

Jade Jere (Jerry) and Bella Koerner (Kerner) led the Gazelles with 9 kills each. Alaina Nelson recorded 29 assists and two aces.

Yankton ends their regular season on November 5th with a road match against Brookings.

Yankton Cross Country athletes Ava Johanneson, Sophie Petheram, Abram Chance, Aidan Harrell, Jackson Slowey, and Taylor Wenzlaff were selected yesterday as Academic All-State honorees.

To earn an Academic All-State recognition, a senior athlete must maintain a 3.5 GPA, have competed in their sport for at least three years, and be nominated by their head coach.

Yankton wrapped up their Cross Country season last weekend, placing 12th in the boys’ competition and 11th in the girls’ competition at the state meet.

University of South Dakota Head Football Coach Bob Nielsen will be the featured guest speaker at today’s Yankton Quarterback Club Meeting.

Nielsen’s Coyotes are currently 6-2 on the season following their 20-17 loss to SDSU on Saturday.

A paid meal will be served beginning at 11:15 PM, with the meeting beginning at noon at the River Rock Event Center in Yankton.

Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Soccer wrap up their regular season tonight with a road doubleheader against Doane in Crete, Nebraska. The women are scheduled to play first at 5:00 PM with the men to follow.

Mount Marty Volleyball is on the road in Omaha, Nebraska tonight for a GPAC matchup with the College of Saint Mary.

The Lancers are 12-12 on the year following last week’s 3 set to 1 loss to the Concordia Bulldogs.

First serve is scheduled for 7:30 PM tonight.

The University of South Dakota has announced their 2025 schedule ahead of their bye this weekend.

USD will open 2025 with a road matchup against Iowa State. The Coyotes Home slate includes games against non-conference foes Northern Colorado and Drake, as well as in-state rivals South Dakota State.

Yankton Bucks Football enters the postseason as the #1 seed in Class 11-AA, hosting the #8 Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles tomorrow night in round one.

Yankton is 7-2 following last week’s 80-14 win over Mitchell, entering the postseason on a 5-game win streak, outscoring opponents 202-35.

Kickoff from Crane-Youngworth Field is scheduled for 7:00 PM tomorrow night. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 6:00. Bryce Ladwig and Josh Boelter will be on the call.
