Mount Marty Women’s Basketball improved to 6-0 last night, defeating Nebraska Wesleyan in Lincoln, 73-52.

Stevi Fallis led the Lancers with 17 points in the win, adding 4 assists and 3 steals. Alexus Motley finished just short of a double-double with 11 points and 8 rebounds.

The Lancers begin GPAC play on Saturday, taking on Northwestern in a men’s and women’s doubleheader.

Yesterday was National Signing Day for the Fall of 2024, and USD Women’s Basketball and Volleyball each added multiple recruits.

Women’s Basketball announced three signings yesterday, including Vermillion’s Brooke Jensen, who helped lead the Tanagers to a state championship last year. Along with Jensen, Tori Schlagel of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and Alyssa Bartlett of Pleasant Hill, Iowa signed with the Coyotes.

USD Volleyball announced the addition of five players yesterday. Signing with the Coyotes were Ava Ball from Saint Paul, Minnesota, Kate Holthaus from Cold Spring, Minnesota, Sioux Falls Washington’s Cate Legel, Ella Rogers from Des Moines, Iowa, and Sierra Pokharel from Omaha, Nebraska.

The Class AA Volleyball SoDak 16 will be held today, with the eight winners advancing to the state tournament. SoDak matchups are listed below, with the high-seed hosting.

The South Dakota High School Football State Championships begin today in Vermillion with Classes 9B and 9AA crowning state champions. A full schedule for the title games is available below. All games are held at the DakotaDome.

South Dakota Women’s Basketball fell to 0-3 last night, as they were defeated by LMU in Overtime 71-67.

Grace Larkins led the Coyotes with 29 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal, posting or tying a team-high in all categories.

USD travels to Sioux Falls on Saturday for a neutral site contest against Nebraska at the Sanford Pentagon.

South Dakota Men’s Basketball returns home tonight to host the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.

USD is 3-1 on the year coming off their first loss of the season on Tuesday against the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Tip-off from Vermillion is scheduled for 6:00 PM.

South Dakota State Women’s Basketball is 3-0 on the season following last night’s 79-57 win over Wisconsin.

The Jacks had five players score 10+ points in the win, including 13 points apiece for Haleigh Timmer, Brooklyn Meyer, and Mesa Byom (By-um).

Next up for SDSU is a home matchup with #16 Duke on Sunday.

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball is on the road tonight for a neutral site game against Northern Colorado.

SDSU is 2-0 on the year coming off a 80-79 win over Long Beach State last Friday. Northern Colorado holds a 2-1 record.

The game will be held at the Monument Arena in Rapid City. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 PM Central/7:00 PM Mountain.
