Mount Marty Football plays their final game of the season tomorrow, hosting Doane at Crane-Youngworth Field.

The Lancers have already set a new single-season win record at 6-4 on the year, and are guaranteed to finish above .500 for the first time in program history.

Kickoff from Yankton is scheduled for 1:00 PM. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at noon. Steve Thum and Tehl Tanner will be on the call.

Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Basketball begin GPAC play tomorrow night, hosting Northwestern for a doubleheader inside Cimpl Arena.

The Lancer Women went 6-0 in non-conference play, outscoring their opponents by an average of 30.7 points per game.

The Lancer Men are 3-1 entering conference play, with a 3-0 home record and an average margin of victory of 23.7 points.

The women are scheduled to play first at 5:00 PM with the men to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV will begin at 4:30 or immediately following the Lancer football game. Brayden Butler will be on the call.

South Dakota Men’s Basketball defeated Dakota Wesleyan last night, 92-69 in Vermillion.

Isaac Bruns led USD with 23 points and a pair of steals in the win. Kaleb Stewart, 13 points, and Chase Forte, 11 points, also scored in double figures for the Coyotes.

USD is off until next Wednesday when they travel to Kalamazoo, Michigan to take on Western Michigan.

South Dakota Women’s Basketball returns to the hardwood tomorrow for a neutral site game against Nebraska inside the Sanford Pentagon.

Tip-off from Sioux Falls is scheduled for 7:00 PM tomorrow night.

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball suffered their first loss of the season last night, falling 78-69 to Northern Colorado.

Oscar Cluff posted 22 points and 11 rebounds in the loss. Joe Sayler added 10 points for SDSU, while Matthew Mors, Kalen Garry, and Stoney Hadnot each scored 9.

SDSU returns home on Monday to host Mount Marty inside First Bank & Trust Arena.

South Dakota State Women’s Basketball is 3-0 to start the season heading into Sunday’s matchup with #16 Duke. 

Tip-off from Brookings is scheduled for 2:30 PM.

The Class AA Volleyball SoDak 16 took place yesterday with eight teams punching their tickets to the state tournament. SoDak results and first-round matchups are listed below. 

The State Tournament will be held at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls from November 21st through the 23rd.

Class AA SoDak 16 results:

  • #1 Harrisburg swept #16 Douglas 3-0.
  • #2 Sioux Falls Jefferson defeated #15 Pierre 3-0.
  • #3 Sioux Falls Washington beat #14 Huron 3-0.
  • #4 O’Gorman topped #13 Rapid City Central 3-0.
  • #5 Watertown defeated #12 Brookings 3-0.
  • #6 Sioux Falls Roosevelt beat #11 Sioux Falls Lincoln 3-1.
  • #7 Brandon Valley topped #10 Rapid City Stevens 3-1. 
  • #8 Spearfish was swept by #9 Aberdeen Central 3-0.

After day one of the South Dakota High School Football State Championships, Sully Buttes captured their first state title since 1989 in Class 9B, while Hamlin ended Parkston’s 23-game win streak to be crowned champions in 9AA.

Sully Buttes defeated Faulkton Area 34-14 in the first game of the day. Quarterback Wesley Wittler tallied 5 total touchdowns, 3 passing and 2 rushing, and over 350 yards of total offense for the Sully Buttes.

Hamlin was led by Quarterback Jackson Wadsworth in their 32-8 win over Parkston. Wadsworth threw for 216 yards and a touchdown and was selected as the game’s MVP.

Five State Championship games still need to be decided today and tomorrow. The remaining games are listed below. All games are held at the DakotaDome in Vermillion.
