Mount Marty Men’s Basketball picked up a 71-67 road win over Waldorf on Saturday in Forest City, Iowa.
Tash Lunday led the Lancers with a 30-point, 10-rebound double-double. Lunday was followed in scoring by Mac Ryken who posted a new career-high with 16 points.
The Lancer men are now 5-2 overall, 2-1 in GPAC play, heading into a home matchup with Hastings tomorrow night inside Cimpl Arena.
Mount Marty Women’s Basketball fell to 0-3 in GPAC play on Saturday, as they were defeated by Waldorf 69-67.
The Lancers had four players score in double figures, led by 13 points from Stevi Fallis. Kaela Martinez and Sidney Thue each added 12, while Signe (See-nuh) Bang finished with 11.
The Lancer women host Hasting tomorrow alongside the Lancer men for a GPAC doubleheader. The women play first at 6:00 PM with the men to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 5:30. Tehl Tanner will be on the call.
Yankton Bucks Hockey opened their season with a weekend sweep of Oahe (O-waa-he) in their two games.
The Bucks won game one on Saturday 6-0. Jack Pedersen scored a pair of goals in the win. Rylan Murphy and Connor Perakslis each added a goal and two assists.
On Sunday the Bucks took a 5-2 victory. Jack Pedersen and Kaden Hunhoff both scored twice for Yankton. Across the two games, Luke Moeller recorded 51 saves, allowing only two goals in net for the Bucks.
Yankton’s next match will be on the road on Friday, taking on Sioux Falls East at Furniture Mart Arena in Sioux Falls. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:15 PM.
South Dakota Volleyball’s Kamryn Farris has been selected as the Summit League Defensive Player of the Year and a member of the All-League team for 2024.
Farris led all players in digs with 347 and digs per set at 5.26 during Summit League Play, helping the Coyotes achieve the #3 seed in the Conference Tournament.
Also for the Yotes, Avery Van Hook was an All-League Honorable Mention, with Morgan Bode, Madison Burr, and Lauren Medeck making the All-Freshmen team.
The Gayville-Volin Raiders finished 7th in the Class B Volleyball State Tournament, defeating Kadoka Area on Saturday 3 sets to 1.
Maia Achen finished with 18 kills and 26 digs to lead the Raiders, followed by Paisley Dimmer with 11 kills. Britton Scheetz recorded 37 assists, eclipsing 1,000 in her career, and earned All-Tournament for Class B.
The Raiders finished 2024 with a 30-6 record. Results for All three classes are available below.

The last-second score capped off an 11-point comeback for USD in the final 4:10 of the game.
Aidan Bouman (B-ow-man) threw for 272 yards and 2 scores, including the game-winner to Javion Phelps who finished with 3 catches for 79 yards and 1 touchdown.
USD has a first-round bye in the FCS Playoffs as the #4 seed. They will host the Winner of Drake vs Tarleton State on December 7th in the second round.
South Dakota State Football capped off a 10-2 regular season with a 45-9 victory over Missouri State.
Mark Gronowski threw for 258 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the win. Griffin Wilde (Will-dee) was the leading receiver with 4 catches for 139 yards and a score.
SDSU enters the postseason as the #3 seed. They will host the winner of Montana vs Tennessee State on December 7th.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers are bowl-eligible for the first time in nearly a decade following Saturday’s 44-25 win over Wisconsin.
Dylan Raiola threw for 293 yards and a touchdown in the win. Emmett Johnson was the leading rusher with 113 yards and a score. Dante Dowdell (Dow Dell) added 3 rushing touchdowns as well.
Nebraska, now 6-5 on the year, wraps up their regular season this Friday night with a road game against the Iowa Hawkeyes.
South Dakota Men’s Basketball returns home tonight to host Randall inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
USD is 5-2 on the year following their 92-83 loss to Southern Indiana last Friday night, which ended a three-game win streak.
Tip-off from Vermillion is scheduled for 7:00 PM this evening.
South Dakota Women’s Basketball will be in Nashville, Tennessee for their next two games, beginning tomorrow night with a matchup against Dayton.
The Coyotes are 2-4 to start the year, but are coming off of back-to-back wins over Bellevue and North Carolina Central.
Tip-off tomorrow morning is scheduled for 11:00 AM. The Coyotes will wrap up their time in Nashville on Wednesday against Arizona State.
South Dakota State Men’s Basketball improved to 5-1 last night with a 71-60 win over Duquesne (Doo-Cane) to open the Cayman Islands Classic.
Kalen Garry led the Jacks in scoring with 20 points. Oscar Cluff added a 17-point, 11-rebound double-double, while Matthew Mors finished with 15 points.
SDSU takes on Boise State today at 12:30 PM in the Cayman Islands Classic Semi-Finals.
South Dakota State Women’s Basketball fell to 3-2 on Saturday with a 71-57 loss to Georgia Tech in the Hawaii North Shore Showcase.
Haleigh Timmer and Brooklyn Meyer tied for the team-high in points with 12. Meyer led the Jacks in rebounds with 7.
SDSU concludes the North Shore Showcase tomorrow night against Oregon. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM Central.
