Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Basketball will be on the road tomorrow night to face Doane in a GPAC doubleheader.

The Lancer Men are 6-3 on the year, 3-1 in GPAC play, coming off their 71-67 loss to York University on Saturday.

The Lancer Women enter with a 6-4 overall record looking for their first conference win of the season.

The Women will play first at 6:00 PM tomorrow night with the men to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT begins at 5:15. Tehl Tanner will be on the call. 

Yankton Gazelles Gymnastics opens their 2024 season this evening with a home triangular.

Yankton will face Mitchell and Parkston/Ethan/Hanson in the event. The competition is scheduled to begin at 5:30 PM at River City Gymnastics and Cheer.

New Yankton Gazelles Head Basketball Coach Blake Savey will be the featured guest speaker at tomorrow’s Yankton Quarterback Club Meeting.

Savey begins his first season as the Gazelles head coach on Friday with a road matchup against Sioux Falls Lincoln. 

A paid meal will be served beginning at 11:15, with the meeting beginning at noon. The public is invited to attend.

South Dakota Coyotes Head Coach Bob Nielson has been named Missouri Valley Football Conference Coach of the Year for the 2nd straight season.

Nielson led the Coyotes to a 9-2 overall record, 7-1 in conference play, and a share of the program’s first conference title at the D1 level.

Nielson has led the Coyotes to all 4 FCS Playoff appearances in school history, earning a top-4 seed in back-to-back seasons.

Several USD Football players were honored by the Missouri Valley Football Conference yesterday, led by Conference Defensive Player of the Year Mi’Quise Grace.

Grace led the conference in both tackles for loss with 17 and sacks with 9.5 this season, playing in all eleven games for USD.

Along with Grace, several other athletes were honored as All-Conference selections. USD All-Conference selections are listed below:

South Dakota State had 16 athletes named to the Missouri Valley All-Conference team following a 10-2 season, 7-1 in conference play.

Nine of SDSU’s 16 selections were 1st-team honorees, including four-time selection Mark Gronowski. SDSU’s All-Conference honorees are listed below.

South Dakota Women’s Basketball standout Grace Larkins has been named the Summit League Women’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week.

Larkins averaged 31.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game in the Music City Classic, earning a spot on the All-Tournament team.

Larkins and the Coyotes are on the road for their next game, tomorrow night against Montana State. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 PM.

South Dakota Men’s Basketball returns to the hardwood tomorrow night, hosting Idaho State to begin the Big Sky-Summit Challenge.

The Coyotes are 6-3 on the year following a 96-79 loss to Nebraska last Wednesday night. 

Tip-off from Vermillion between USD and Idaho State is scheduled for 7:00 PM tomorrow night.

South Dakota State Center Oscar Cluff has earned his second Summit League Men’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week honor of the season

Cluff posted a pair of double-doubles in the final two games of the Cayman Islands Classic last week, bringing his season total to 6 through SDSU’s first 8 games. Cluffs’ 6 double-doubles rank as the 2nd most in the NCAA.

Cluff and the Jackrabbits are on the road tomorrow night to open the Big Sky-Summit Challenge against Montana. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 PM.

South Dakota State Women’s Basketball has their first game of the Big Sky-Summit Challenge tomorrow night, hosting Eastern Washington.

SDSU enters the contest with a 5-2 record, coming off a 63-55 win over Ball State on Sunday.

Tip-off from First Bank & Trust Arena in Brookings is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
