Mount Marty Men’s Basketball was edged out by Doane last night 70-68, as Doane’s Brady Timm hit a game-winning shot with 3 seconds remaining.

Brandon Garcia led the Lancers in scoring with 19 points, while Tash Lunday posted a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

After the loss head coach Colin Authier said that his team’s focus turns to their game Saturday against Dordt and taking care of the basketball.

The Lancers return to action on Saturday, hosting Dordt inside Cimpl Arena.

Mount Marty Women’s Basketball was defeated by Doane last night, 91-62 in Crete, Nebraska.

Alexus Motley led the Lancers with 18 points and 8 rebounds in the loss, followed by Sidney Thue, who finished with 13 points and 7 rebounds.

The Lancers return to action on Saturday, hosting Dordt inside Cimpl Arena.

Yankton Gazelles Basketball opens their 2024-25 campaign tomorrow night, taking on the Sioux Falls Lincoln Patriots in Sioux Falls.

The Gazelles finished last season with a 5-16 overall record. This is the first season for Yankton under new head coach Blake Savey.

Tip-off from Lincoln High School is scheduled for 7:00 PM Friday night. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 6:30. Bryce Ladwig will be on the call.

Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Wrestling open their 2024-25 season tonight with a home triangular at Yankton High School.

Yankton will face Watertown and Beresford/Alcester-Hudson during the event. Matches are scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM this evening.

Mount Marty Indoor Track and Field begins their season tomorrow with the South Dakota State Holiday Open & Multi’s.

Tomorrow is day one of the two-day meet. Events will be held at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex in Brookings.

South Dakota Men’s Basketball improved to 7-3 last night with a 94-80 win over Idaho State in their first game of the Big Sky-Summit Challenge.

Chase Forte (For-tay) led USD in points with 21 and assists with 6. Isaac Bruns was 2nd in scoring with 18 points for the Coyotes.

USD is on the road for their final Big Sky-Summit Challenge Game on Saturday against Northern Arizona.

South Dakota Women’s Basketball dropped their first game of the Big Sky-Summit Challenge last night, 77-46 to Montana State.

Alexi Hempe scored a team-high 14 points. Grace Larkins added 11 points and 7 rebounds.

The Coyotes return home on Saturday to host Northern Arizona to conclude the Big Sky-Summit Challenge.

Matthew Mors led the Jackrabbits with 14 points and 9 rebounds, finishing just shy of a double-double.

SDSU returns home on Saturday to host Eastern Washington.

South Dakota State Women’s Basketball picked up an 81-58 win over Eastern Washington last night in the Big Sky-Summit Challenge.

Haleigh Timmer led the Jacks with 15 points, followed closely by Paige Meyer and Brooklyn Meyer with 12 each.

SDSU is on the road for their next game, taking on Montana on Saturday.

South Dakota Coyotes Volleyball is in Omaha, Nebraska tonight to take on the #2-seeded Creighton Blue Jays in the 1st round of the NCAA Tournament.

USD enters the tournament as the Summit League Tournament Champions, holding a 21-9 overall record.

First serve is scheduled for 7:00 PM this evening.

South Dakota State Volleyball opens the NCAA Tournament tomorrow afternoon, taking on #8-seeded Miami in Lincoln, Nebraska.

SDSU enters the tournament with a 27-2 overall record, including a 15-1 record in Summit League Play.
