Yankton School District Superintendent, Dr. Wayne Kindle, has commented on the officer involved shooting that occurred at the Yankton High School Thursday night.
Kindle says that school officials were notified Thursday by law enforcement that someone in the west parking lot of the high school had a weapon.
Kindle praised law enforcement and school staff for how they handled the situation.
Kindle confirmed that there were no students, staff, or community members injured.
The incident is still being investigated by the Division of Criminal Investigation.
