Yankton Gazelles Basketball fell to 0-1 last Friday, opening their season with a 50-43 loss to Sioux Falls Lincoln.

Eden Wolfgram led the Gazelles with 34 points in the loss. A new career high for the Sophomore.

The Gazelles return to Yankton for their home opener tomorrow night against Huron. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM, pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 6:30. Bryce Ladwig will be on the call.

Mount Marty Men’s Basketball was defeated by the Dordt Defenders on Saturday, 100-73.

Tash Lunday led the Lancers with 20 points in the loss. Angok Akot, 12 points, and Brandon Garcia, 10 points, also scored in double figures.

The Lancers are off until Saturday when they face Morningside in Sioux City.

Mount Marty Women’s Basketball fell to the #1 ranked Dordt Defenders on Saturday, 103-77 inside Cimpl Arena.

The Lancers had four players eclipse 10-points in the win, led by Alexus Motley with 16. Motley also led the Lancers in assists with 4 and tied for the team-high in rebounds with 5.

The Lancers are off until Saturday when they face Morningside in Sioux City.

Yankton Bucks Hockey went 1-1 over the weekend, defeating Sioux Center on Friday 18-0 before losing to Brookings on Saturday 4-2.

A trio of Bucks recorded hat tricks against Sioux Center, as Kylen O’Conner, Tucker Renken, and Connor Perakslis each scored three goals.

O’Conner and Max Weisenburger scored a goal each against Brookings with Renken picking up an assist.

Yankton, now 4-2 on the year, is back in action on Friday, hosting Brandon Valley at 8:00 PM.

Mount Marty Track and Field’s Donald Dibang finished fifth in the men’s heptathlon at the SDSU Holiday Open over the weekend.

Dibang finished with 4,377 points over the two-day event. Also finishing in the top 10 was Jonathan van Lien in 8th for MMU.

On the women’s side, Josey Wahlstrom took home 7th in the women’s pentathlon, posting the best time in the 800-meter race.

Next up for MMU is an event in Mitchell beginning on Friday, December 13th, hosted by Dakota Wesleyan.

Yankton Bucks Wrestling took home 6th place at the Marv Sherrill Dual Wrestling Tournament on Saturday in Watertown.

Yankton went 1-2 in pool play, beating Mitchell 51-26 and falling to Aberdeen Central 71-4 and Milbank 44-36. The Bucks would face Canby, Minnesota in the 5th place dual, falling 66-16.

The Bucks are back in action tomorrow night for a quadrangular at Sioux Falls Lincoln High School. Matches are scheduled to begin at 4:30 PM.

Yankton Gazelles Wrestling earned a 6th place finish in the 20-team Watertown Invitational Girls’ Wrestling Tournament last Friday night.

Chloe Caton and Winry Yaggie led Yankton with 3rd place finishes in their respective weight classes. Also for Yankton Aleya Ruzicka and Jaclyn Kite placed 6th.

Yankton is back in action tomorrow night for a quadrangular at Sioux Falls Lincoln High School. Matches are scheduled to begin at 4:30 PM.

The South Dakota Coyotes advanced to the FCS Playoff Quarterfinals on Saturday, defeating Tarleton State 42-31.

Travis Theis led the Coyotes with 130 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns. Theis’ 3 scores on the ground brought his career total to 37, tying the program record.

USD will host #5-seeded UC Davis in the Quarterfinals on Saturday. Kickoff from the DakotaDome is scheduled for 2:00 PM.

South Dakota State is moving on to the FCS Playoff Quarterfinals following their 35-18 win over Montana.

The Jackrabbits recorded 222 rushing yards as a team, led by Amar Johnson with 103. Mark Gronowski had 4 total touchdowns for SDSU, 2 passing and 2 rushing.

SDSU will host Incarnate Word in the Quarterfinals on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 AM.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers are going to their first bowl game in almost a decade later this month, as they have been selected to compete in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl.

The Huskers finished the 2024 regular season with a 6-6 record. They will face Boston College in the bowl, who finished the year with a 7-5 record. This will be the first-ever matchup between the two programs.

The Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl will be held at Yankee Stadium in New York City on December 28th. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 AM.

South Dakota Men’s Basketball fell to Northern Arizona on Saturday, 95-82 in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Isaac Bruns led USD with 22 points and 7 rebounds, followed by Chase Forte who finished with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals.

USD is back home tomorrow night, hosting Wyoming inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

South Dakota Women’s Basketball improved to 4-6 on Saturday with an 84-79 victory over Northern Arizona.

Grace Larkins led the way in scoring with 21 points, adding 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Carley Duffney finished just shy of a double-double with 16 points and 9 rebounds.

The Coyotes are on the road in Cedar Falls, Iowa tomorrow night to take on UNI. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM.

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball is now 8-3 on the season following their 74-53 win over Eastern Washington on Saturday.

Oscar Cluff led the way for SDSU with a 19-point, 11-rebound double-double. Joe Sayler, 18 points, and Matthew Mors, 14 points, also scored in double figures.

Next up for SDSU is a road game against Nevada on Wednesday.

South Dakota State Women’s Basketball picked up their 4th straight win on Saturday, defeating Montana 78-70.

Brooklyn Meyer set a new career high in scoring with 32 points to lead the Jackrabbits. Meyer went 12 of 15 from the field and 8 of 9 from the free throw line.

SDSU returns home on Wednesday to host Dakota Wesleyan inside First Bank & Trust Arena.
