Yankton Gazelles Basketball fell to the Huron Tigers last night, 50-38 in their home opener.

Nora Krajewski led the Gazelles with 16 points in the loss, including a team-high four three-pointers.

Yankton is back in action on Friday for a road matchup with the Harrisburg Tigers.

Yankton Bucks wrestling competed in multiple duals in Sioux Falls last night, defeating Sioux Falls Washington 59-24 and falling to Sioux Falls Lincoln 57-22.

Across the two duals, Shayce Platt and Bode Thurman each went 2-0. Platt earned a tech fall and a major decision for his two wins, while Thurman earned a pair of pinfall victories.

Yankton is back in action tomorrow in Rapid City for a triangular against Rapid City Stevens and Chamberlain, beginning at 4:30 PM Mountain, 5:30 Central.

Yankton Gazelles Wrestling defeated Sioux Falls Washington 30-16 and Sioux Falls Lincoln 41-18 in a pair of duals last night in Sioux Falls.

Jett Yaggie picked up the lone win for Yankton over Washington, with the rest of the Gazelles’ points coming via forfeit. Two matches were held between Yankton and Lincoln, with Yankton’s Winry Yaggie and Sofia Delgado winning both matches.

Yankton is back in action tomorrow in Rapid City for a triangular against Rapid City Stevens and Chamberlain, beginning at 4:30 PM Mountain, 5:30 Central.

Yankton Gymnastics is in action tomorrow afternoon for a varsity quadrangular hosted by the Mitchell Kernels.

Tomorrow is the first competition for Yankton since December 3rd. Yankton, Mitchell, Pierre, and O’Gorman will compete in the event.

Events are held at the Mitchell MEGA Gymnastics Center, beginning at 5:00 PM on Thursday.

South Dakota Volleyball’s Kylen Sealock and Kamryn Farris were named AVCA Northwest All-Region Honorable Mentions yesterday by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Sealock wrapped up her Coyote career with the 2nd most kills in the Summit League this season at 417, averaging 3.56 kills per set. Farris earned Summit League Defensive Player of the Year honors this past season, leading the conference in digs with 565.

Sealock and Farris helped lead the Coyotes to a Summit League Tournament Championship and an NCAA Tournament appearance.

University of South Dakota Basketball coaches Carrie Eighmey and Eric Peterson will be the featured guest speakers at today’s Yankton Quarterback Club meeting.

Coach Eighmey is in her first season at the helm for the Coyote Women’s Basketball program. Eighmey holds a 252-127 career record, having previously coached at Idaho, Nebraska-Kearney, and Hastings.

Coach Peterson is in 3rd season as the USD Men’s Basketball Head Coach. He holds a 32-43 record at USD and is 8-4 so far this season.

A paid meal will be served beginning at 11:15 with the meeting scheduled to begin at noon at the River Rock Event Center. The public is invited to attend.

South Dakota Men’s Basketball edged out Wyoming last night, 82-81 to improve to 8-4 on the year.

Chase Forte led the Coyotes with 25 points and 5 assists. Kaleb Stewart, 17 points, and Dre Bullock, 14 points, also scored in double figures.

USD is back in action on Saturday, hosting Western Illinois at 11:00 AM.

South Dakota Women’s Basketball fell to 4-7 last night with a 78-59 loss to Northern Iowa.

Grace Larkins finished one assist shy of a triple-double, finishing with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists.

USD returns home on Sunday to host Wyoming. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM.

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball is on the road tonight in Reno, Nevada to take on the University of Nevada Wolf Pack.

SDSU is 8-3 on the season, coming off a 74-52 win over Eastern Washington on Saturday to conclude the Big Sky-Summit Challenge.

Tip-off is scheduled for 9:00 PM central time.

South Dakota State Women’s Basketball returns home tonight to take on Dakota Wesleyan at First Bank & Trust Arena.

SDSU is 7-2 on the season after extending their win streak to four straight on Saturday with a 78-70 victory over Montana.

Tip-off from Brookings is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
