Yankton Bucks Basketball tipped off their season last night, falling in a close game to Sioux Falls Washington 51-47.

Carson Ness led the Bucks in scoring with a game-high 20 points, adding 4 assists. Head Coach Chris Haynes spoke highly of Ness’ performance as a senior leader for the Bucks.

The Bucks are back in action on Friday for their home opener against Sioux Falls Lincoln.

Yankton Gazelles Basketball fell to 0-3 on the season last night with a 72-33 loss to the #2 ranked Sioux Falls Washington Warriors.

Eden Wolfgram led the Gazelles with 12 points, followed closely by September Rauch with 11. Head coach Blake Savey spoke highly of Rauch’s shot selection after the game.

The Gazelles are off until their New Year’s Eve makeup game against Harrisburg after their originally scheduled game was postponed from December 13th.

Mount Marty Women’s Basketball is on the road tonight to take on the South Dakota Coyotes in Vermillion.

The exhibition game will not count towards the Lancers’ overall record due to USD playing at the NCAA Division I level. The game will count for the Coyotes.

Tip-off from the Sanford Coyote Sports Center is scheduled for 7:00 PM. Pregame coverage on KYNT begins at 6:15.

South Dakota State head men’s basketball coach Eric Henderson will be the featured guest speaker at today’s Yankton Quarterback Club meeting.

Henderson and the Jackrabbits are 8-5 so far this season. Henderson is 117-53 in his career as SDSU head coach.

The meeting will begin at noon at the River Rock Event Center. A paid meal will be available at 11:15. The public is invited to attend.

The South Dakota Coyotes had multiple players earn AP FCS All-American honors, led by 1st-team selections for JJ Galbreath and Mi’Quise Grace.

Galbreath played in 8 games for the Coyotes in the regular season before an injury sidelined him. He returned to the lineup in last week’s FCS Quarterfinal game, securing 6 catches for 45 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Grace was the MVFC Defensive Player of the Year this season leading the Missouri Valley in tackles for loss with 17 and sacks with 9.5.

Also honored for USD were 2nd-team selections Joey Lombard and Dennis Shorter, and an Honorable Mention for Charles Pierre Jr.

The South Dakota State Jackrabbits had four players earn AP FCS All-American selections yesterday, led by 1st-team selection Gus Miller.

Miller, a Brookings native, led the Jackrabbits offensive line that paved the way for SDSU to average 36.6 points and 441.9 yards of total offense during the regular season.

Earning 2nd-team honors for SDSU were offensive lineman Evan Beerntsen, linebacker Adam Bock, and defensive back Dalys Beanum.

South Dakota State Women’s Basketball improved to 10-2 last night with an 84-47 win over Dakota State.

Brooklyn Meyer led SDSU in scoring with 16 points, while Haleigh Timmer posted an 11-point 11-rebound double-double.

Next up for the Jackrabbits is a road game against the #6 ranked Texas Longhorns on Sunday in Austin, Texas.

South Dakota Coyotes Men’s Basketball is on the road tomorrow night to take on Utah Tech in St. George, Utah.

The Coyotes have won 3 of their last 4 games, including an 89-66 win over Western Illinois last Saturday.

Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 PM Central tomorrow night.

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball returns home tomorrow night to host Chadron State inside First Bank & Trust Arena.

The Jackrabbits look to maintain an undefeated record at home after back-to-back road losses to Nevada and Colorado last week.

Tip-off from Brookings is scheduled for 7:00 PM tomorrow night.
