The Yankton City Commission authorized an urban boundary map at Thursday’s commission meeting.
Community and Economic Development Director, Dave Mingo, says that the map is required every ten years by the Federal Highway Administration.
Mingo says that the boundary map indicates potential growth areas.
Thursday’s meeting marked the final city commission meeting of the year.
With the ordinance change that was approved earlier this month, city commission meetings will be moved up an hour to 6 p.m. beginning in January.
