Mount Marty Men’s Basketball fell to Valley City State Friday afternoon, 76-66 inside Cimpl Arena.
Tash Lunday led the Lancers with a 30-point, 11-rebound double-double. Jake Jensen added 10 points and 6 boards in the loss.
The Lancers are off until December 28th when they travel to Omaha, Nebraska for an exhibition game against the Omaha Mavericks.
Yankton Bucks Basketball fell to Sioux Falls Lincoln on Friday in their home opener, 69-29.
Yankton is now 0-2 on the year following the loss. Cohen Zahbrock led the Bucks in scoring with 8 points.
The Bucks are off until New Year’s Eve when they take on the Harrisburg Tigers in a makeup of a previously postponed game.
Yankton Bucks Hockey picked up their 7th win of the season on Saturday, defeating the Watertown Lakers 6-2.
Jack Pedersen led the Bucks with 2 goals in the win. Also scoring for Yankton were Kylen O’Conner, Cooper Larsen, Easton Vellek, and Kaden Hunhoff.

Damian Janish led Yankton, claiming 1st place at 113 pounds. Also for the Bucks, Devon Coke (126), and Shayce Platt (165) placed 2nd in their classes. Joelton Reimnitz-Hahn (138), Bode Thurman (144), and CorBin Sayler (175) each placed third.

Yankton only fielded two wrestlers for the meet. Alexis Brenden took 1st at 120 pounds, while Chloe Caton placed 3rd at 107.

Yankton Gazelles Gymnastics placed 10th at Saturday’s Jill McCormick Invitational gymnastics meet in Mitchell.
Yankton scored 131.425 as a team. Burkely Olson led the Gazelles with a 20th-place finish in the all-around competition, followed by Avery Portillo in 21st.
Yankton is off until their road triangular in Madison on January 6th.
The South Dakota Coyotes had their season come to an end in the FCS Playoff Semifinals on Saturday, losing to #1 Montana State.
Travis Theis ran for 110 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Charles Pierre Jr added another 57 yards and a score on the ground as well.
USD finishes their season with an 11-3 record, earning their first Missouri Valley Football Conference Championship and their first FCS Semifinal appearance in program history.

South Dakota Women’s Basketball improved to 6-8 last Friday with a 75-31 win over South Dakota Mines.
Grace Larkins ended the night with 27 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals, leading USD in all four categories.

South Dakota State Women’s Basketball had their non-conference slate of games end yesterday with a 103-57 loss to #6 Texas.
Brooklyn Meyer led SDSU with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Emilee Fox also scored in double figures with 11 points.
