Mount Marty Men’s Basketball returns from their holiday break tomorrow afternoon, taking on Omaha in an exhibition game.

The Lancers hold a 6-7 overall record. Tomorrow’s game will not count towards the Lancers record, due to Omaha being an NCAA Division I opponent.

Tip-off from Omaha, Nebraska is scheduled for 7:05 PM tomorrow night.

The South Dakota Coyotes have announced that Tim Morrison will now serve as the Scott & Lisa Jones Family offensive coordinator with Matt Vitzhum (Vitt-zum) serving as Co-Offensive Coordinator.

Morrison originally joined the Coyotes staff in the spring of 2023, having served as the tight ends coach since his hiring.

Vitzhum joined the Coyotes staff before the start of the 2024 season, serving as the program’s wide receivers coach this year.

Morrison and Vitzhum’s promotions follow the departure of former Offensive Coordinator Josh Davis, who was announced as the new Offensive Coordinator for Fresno State on Thursday.

Yankton Bucks Hockey returns to action tomorrow night, taking on the Huron All-Stars in Huron.

Yankton enters the contest with a 7-2 overall record. Yankton defeated Huron earlier this year in Yankton, 5-4 in overtime.

Puck drop from Huron is scheduled for 5:00 PM tomorrow night.

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball wraps up their non-conference schedule on Sunday, as they travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide.

SDSU is 9-5 on the year following their 87-72 win over Chadron State on December 19th. Alabama is ranked #5 in the country with a 10-2 record.

Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday afternoon.

All Yankton High School winter athletics are off for the time being, allowing students a break during the Holiday season. Each sports first competition back is listed below.

Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Basketball are on the road on Tuesday, December 31st to take on the Harrisburg Tigers. 

The games on New Year’s Eve were originally scheduled for December 13th, but were postponed due to inclement weather.

Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Wrestling return to the mats on Thursday, January 2nd for a triangular in Sioux Falls.

Yankton will have duals with the hosts Sioux Falls Roosevelt and Brookings during the meet.

Yankton Gymnastics has the longest break of any sport, with their return competition scheduled for Monday, January 6th.

Yankton will compete in a triangular on the 6th. Yankton will fast the hosts Madison and Huron during the event.
