Mount Marty Men’s Basketball fell to the Omaha Mavericks on Saturday, 81-51 in an exhibition game.

Tash Lunday and Brandon Garcia tied for the team-high in scoring with 14 points each. Lunday added 7 rebounds as well.

The Lancers return to GPAC play on Thursday with a road matchup against Briar Cliff in Sioux City, Iowa.

Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Basketball return to the hardwood tomorrow afternoon for a doubleheader against Harrisburg.

The Bucks and Gazelles are both looking for their first win of the season. Tomorrow’s doubleheader was originally scheduled for December 13th, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

The Gazelles play first at 12:30 PM with the Bucks to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at noon. Bryce Ladwig will be on the call.

Mount Marty Women’s Basketball is on the road tomorrow afternoon for an exhibition game against Augustana University.

The Lancers are 6-7 on the year. Tomorrow’s exhibition game will not count towards MMU’s record, and will be their first contest since December 18th.

Tip-off from Sioux Falls is scheduled for 4:00 PM tomorrow afternoon.

Yankton Bucks Hockey picked up their 4th straight win on Saturday, defeating the Huron All-Stars 3-0.

The Bucks outshot Huron 61-11 during the match. Jack Pedersen (Ped-er-sin), Tucker Renken, and Kaden Schramm each had a goal and an assist. Luke Moeller kept a shutout in goal for Yankton.

Yankton returns to the ice on Friday to take on the Sioux Center Storm in Sioux Center, Iowa.

The Yankton Press and Dakotan announced their male and female athletes of the year last week, selecting Matthew Sheldon as Male Athlete of the Year and Nora Krajewski as Female Athlete of the Year.

Sheldon helped lead the Bucks to the Class 11-AA Semifinals during the football season, earning All-State and All-American honors in the process.

Krajewski finished her Junior tennis season with her 2nd straight Flight 1 Singles State Title, as well as a state title in double play alongside her sister Sabrina, finishing a perfect 28-0 in doubles.

Former South Dakota State Head Football Coach Jimmy Rogers has been announced as the new head coach at Washington State.

During his two-year tenure at SDSU, Rogers tallied a 27-3 overall record, making the FCS Semifinals this year and winning a National Title last season.

Rogers takes over a Washington State program coming off an 8-5 season and an appearance in the DirecTV Holiday Bowl. No replacement for Rogers has been announced at this time.
