Yankton Bucks Basketball fell to the Harrisburg Tigers on New Year’s Eve, 48-40 in ESD Conference play.

Carson Ness led the way for the Bucks, scoring 21 points in the loss. Ness tied for the game-high in scoring with Harrisburg’s Stellen Larson.

Yankton is home for their next game, hosting Brookings tomorrow night in a boys and girls doubleheader beginning at 6:00 PM. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 5:30. Bryce Ladwig will be on the call.

Yankton Gazelles Basketball is now 0-4 on the year following their 49-39 loss to Harrisburg on Tuesday.

Eden Wolfgram filled the stat sheet for the Gazelles, finishing with 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals.

Mount Marty Women’s Basketball fell to Augustana in an exhibition game on Tuesday, 76-60.

The Lancers had three players score in double figures, led by 18 points from Emma Jarovski. Sidney Thue and Kaela Martinez each added 10.

The Lancers are back in action tonight for a men’s and women’s doubleheader against Briar Cliff in Sioux City. The women will play first at 6:00 PM with the men to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT begins at 5:15. Tehl Tanner will be on the call.

Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Wrestling will be on the road tonight for their first competition since December 21st.

Yankton will compete against Sioux Falls Roosevelt and Brookings in a triangular at Roosevelt High School.

Yankton will face Roosevelt first with Brookings to follow in a rolling schedule. Matches begin at 5:00 PM.

Yankton Bucks Hockey takes the ice tomorrow night, traveling to Sioux Center, Iowa, for a matchup with the Sioux Center Storm.

Yankton currently sits atop the SDAHA standings with 17 points and an 8-2 record following a 3-0 win over Huron last weekend.

The South Dakota State Jackrabbits have named SDSU alum Dan Jackson as their next head football coach.

Jackson played for SDSU from 2003-2005, and was on the coaching staff from 2012-2019. After leaving SDSU, Jackson spent time as the defensive backs coach at Vanderbilt, and most recently the defensive coordinator at Idaho.

Jackson takes the helm from Jimmy Rogers, who took a head coaching job at Washington State in December.

South Dakota Men’s Basketball begins Summit League play today, on the road against Kansas City.

USD enters conference play with a 9-6 overall record, 8-0 at home and 1-6 on the road following a 98-81 loss to Santa Clara on December 21st.

Tip-off from Kansas City is scheduled for 7:00 PM this evening.

South Dakota Women’s Basketball is on the road this evening for their first Summit League game of the year against Denver.

USD enters conference play with a 6-8 overall record, ending their non-conference slate with wins over Mount Marty and South Dakota Mines.

Tip-off from Denver, Colorado is scheduled for 7:00 PM this evening.

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball has their first Summit League game of the season tonight, hosting the Denver Pioneers in Brookings.

SDSU is 9-6 on the year entering conference play, including an undefeated 6-0 record at home.

Tip-off from Brookings is scheduled for 8:00 PM tonight.

South Dakota State Women’s Basketball travels to Tulsa, Oklahoma today to take on Oral Roberts to open Summit League play.

SDSU ended their non-conference schedule with a 10-3 overall record. SDSU fell to #5 Texas in their last non-conference game on December 22nd.
