Mount Marty Women’s Basketball picked up their 8th win of the season last night, defeating the College of Saint Mary 81-50.

The Lancers found their rhythm early, starting the game on a 15-1 run, punctuated by a Kaela Martinez 3-pointer.

Martinez finished with a game-high 19 points in the win. Emma Jarovski and Alexis Folkers each added 12 points as well. Sidney Thue finished with 10 points and 9 rebounds.

The Lancers are back in action on Saturday for a men’s and women’s doubleheader against Dordt in Sioux Center, Iowa.

Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Basketball are set to host the Mitchell Kernels tomorrow night in a Class AA doubleheader.

The Bucks are 1-5 this season following their close loss to Vermillion on Tuesday. The Kernels, the defending Class AA State Champions, are 5-1.

The Gazelles are looking to pick up their first win of the season against the Kernels. Mitchell enters with a 4-2 overall record.

The Gazelles will play first at 6:00 PM with the Bucks to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 5:30. Bryce Ladwig will be on the call.

Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Wrestling are on the road in Mitchell tonight for a triangular against the Kernels and the Harrisburg Tigers.

Yankton will take on Harrisburg first at 5:00 PM, immediately followed by a dual with Mitchell. A rolling schedule will be used.

Yankton Bucks Hockey will hit the road tomorrow night for a matchup with the Sioux Center Storm.

Yankton is currently 8-2 on the season and 1st in the varsity standings with 17 points. The Bucks defeated the Storm when the two teams met earlier this year, 18-0.

Puck drop from Sioux Center is scheduled for 8:00 PM tomorrow night.

South Dakota Women’s Basketball has their first home game of 2025 tonight, hosting the St. Thomas Tommies in Summit League play.

USD is 7-9 so far this season with a 5-3 record inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center. St. Thomas enters the matchup at 8-7 overall, 0-2 in conference play.

Tip-off from Vermillion is scheduled for 7:00 PM.

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball suffered their first Summit League loss of the season last night, 73-72 at the hands of St. Thomas.

St. Thomas’ Drake Dobbs hit the game-winning free throw for the Tommies with 13 seconds remaining in the game.

Kalen Garry led SDSU with 19 points followed by 13 points and 19 rebounds from Oscar Cluff. Joe Saylerm 12, and Matthew Mors, 10, also scored in double figures. 

The Jackrabbits remain on the road for their next game, taking on Omaha on Saturday.

South Dakota State Women’s Basketball returns to the hardwood tonight, hosting the Omaha Mavericks.

Tonight’s game will be the first home game of 2025 for SDSU. The Jackrabbits are 12-3 so far this season with a 6-1 home record.

Tip-off from First Bank & Trust Arena in Brookings is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
