Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Basketball are set to host the Mitchell Kernels tonight in a Class AA doubleheader.
The Bucks are 1-5 this season following their close loss to Vermillion on Tuesday. The Kernels, the defending Class AA State Champions, are 5-1.
The Gazelles are looking to pick up their first win of the season against the Kernels. Mitchell enters with a 4-2 overall record.
The Gazelles will play first at 6:00 PM with the Bucks to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 5:30. Bryce Ladwig will be on the call.
Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Basketball are on the road tomorrow afternoon for a GPAC doubleheader against Dordt.
The Lancer men and women are both coming off of wins in their last games. The men defeated Waldorf last Saturday 74-70, while the women beat the College of Saint Mary on Wednesday, 81-50.
Tip-off of game one in Sioux Center, Iowa is scheduled for 2:00 PM tomorrow afternoon. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 1:15. Tehl Tanner will be on the call.
Yankton Bucks Wrestling split their triangular last night, going 1-1 at Mitchell High School.
Yankton defeated Mitchell 58-21 for their win. Damian Janish, Devon Coke (126), Shayce Platt, CorBin Sayler, and Peyton Eustace all secured pinfall victories.
Yankton fell to Harrisburg in their dual 53-21. Platt and Sayler picked up wins over the Tigers, as did Edly Amaro and Colton Archer.
Yankton returns to the mats tomorrow for a tournament at Brandon Valley High School. Matches begin at 9:00 AM.
Yankton Gazelles Wrestling went 1-1 last night in their triangular against Mitchell and Harrisburg.
Yankton defeated Mitchell 39-18. Alexis Brenden and Sofia Delgado earned pinfall victories, Winry Yaggie won by tech fall while Chloe Caton earned a major decision.
Yankton would lose to Harrisburg 42-22. Caton, Brenden, Yaggie, and Delgado would all pick up wins again for the Gazelles.
The Gazelles are off until a home meet next Tuesday at Yankton High School.
Yankton Gazelles Gymnastics will be in action tomorrow for a competition at Brookings High School.
Eight total teams will take part in the invite. Events are scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM tomorrow morning.
Mount Marty Indoor Track and Field host the Mount Marty Opener tomorrow at the Ruth Donohoe First Dakota Fieldhouse.
Tomorrow’s meet will be the first in 2025 for the Lancers. Events are set to begin at noon.
Yankton Bucks Hockey will hit the road tonight for a matchup with the Sioux Center Storm.
Yankton is currently 8-2 on the season and 1st in the varsity standings with 17 points. The Bucks defeated the Storm when the two teams met earlier this year, 18-0.

South Dakota Men’s Basketball hits the road tomorrow for a Summit League clash with the St. Thomas Tommies.
USD is 10-7 on the year, 1-1 in conference play, following their 91-84 win over Denver in their last game.
Tip-off from St. Paul, Minnesota is set for 7:00 PM tomorrow night.
South Dakota Women’s Basketball picked up their 8th win of the season last night, defeating St. Thomas 77-60.
Grace Larkins led the Coyotes in the win, posting 34 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists. Larkins added 2 steals and a block as well.
USD is back in action tomorrow, hosting the Omaha Mavericks. Tip-off from Vermillion is set for 1:00 PM.
South Dakota State Women’s Basketball improved to 13-3 last night with a 93-55 win over the Omaha Mavericks.
Brooklyn Meyer led the Jacks with a 21-point, 10-rebound double-double. Haleigh Timmer followed with 17 points in the win.
SDSU is back on the court tomorrow night, hosting the Kansas City Roos inside First Bank & Trust Arena. Tip-off is set for 2:00 PM.
