Earlier this week the Yankton City Commission voted against providing Event Central with an additional $1.7 million in sales tax rebates.
Matt Evans, the owner of Event Central, says that he went to the commission to help add more businesses and retain the businesses currently in the mall.
Evans says that seven businesses have expressed interest in moving into Event Central.
The commission voted 3-5 against the request, with Mayor Mason Schramm not in attendance to vote.
Evans says that he is undecided if he will bring the issue forward to the commission again at a later date.
