The Mount Marty Lancers travel to Sioux Center, Iowa tonight to take on Dordt in the opening round of the GPAC Men’s Basketball Tournament.
The Defenders swept the Lancers in the regular season, winning 84-69 in Sioux Center and 100-73 in Yankton.

Mount Marty Sophomore Conor Michaud has been named the GPAC Baseball Player of the Week, the conference announced yesterday,
Michaud appeared in one game for the Lancers, notching two doubles, four RBI, and two runs scored, while also drawing a walk.
Michaud and the Lancers will be in Tucson, Arizona for their next stretch of games, beginning on March 1st.
The Mount Marty Lancers swept the GPAC Softball honors this week, as McKenzie Gray was named Pitcher of the Week and Kayleen Jacinto was named Player of the Week.
Gray went 2-0 with 15 strikeouts over the weekend. Gray now sits at 28 career victories, the most all-time in Lancer history.
Jacinto went 8 for 13 at the plate over the weekend, scoring six runs, driving in five RBI, and hitting a home run for MMU.
The Lancers travel to Branson, Missouri for their next run of games, beginning on March 6th.
Today is the final Yankton Quarterback Club meeting of the 2024-25 school year at the River Rock Event Center in Yankton.
Yankton Softball Coach Jill Muth, Mount Marty Softball Coach Cassandra Brown, and Mount Marty Baseball coach Josh Teichroew will serve as the guest speakers.
A meal will be available for purchase starting at 11:15 with the meeting set to begin at noon. The public is invited to attend.
The South Dakota High School Boys’ and Girls’ Wrestling State Tournaments begin tomorrow in Rapid City, with several Bucks and Gazelles set to compete.
Representing the Gazelles this year will be Chloe Caton at 100 pounds, Alexis Brenden at 120 pounds, Madison Brown at 126 pounds, and Winry Yaggie at 145 pounds.
Representing the Bucks will be Devon Coke at 126 pounds, Bode Thurman at 138 pounds, Joelton Reimnitz-Hahn at 144 pounds, Shayce Platt at 157 pounds, CorBin Sayler at 175 pounds, and Edly Amaro at 285 pounds.
Matches will be held at The Monument in Rapid City beginning tomorrow at 10:00 AM mountain. The tournament will run through Saturday.
Cedar Catholic Trojans Boys’ Basketball advanced to the Sub-District C2-5 Finals last night with a 71-50 win over Wakefield.
Nolan Becker led the way with 25 points in the win. He was followed by a 16 point outing from Aaron Wortmann.

Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats Boys’ Basketball earned a spot in the Sub-District D1-7 Finals last night by defeating Walthill 61-47.
Cole Heimes (Hi-mes) and Austin Sudbeck tied for a team-high 15 points for the Wildcats, followed by Cole Rosener with 10.
The Wildcats will host Creighton tomorrow night in the Sub-District Finals. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM. Pregame coverage on KYNTV begins at 6:45. Brayden Butler will be on the call.
South Dakota Coyotes Men’s Basketball have their final road game of the regular season tonight, taking on North Dakota State in Fargo, North Dakota.
USD lost to NDSU 103-77 when the two teams met in Vermillion on January 18th. Isaac Bruns led USD with 17 points in that matchup.

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball is on the road in Tulsa, Oklahoma tomorrow night to take on Oral Roberts.
The Jackrabbits defeated Oral Roberts when the two teams met in Brookings 84-70 back on January 18th. Oscar Cluff led SDSU with 21 points and 20 rebounds in the win.

South Dakota State Women’s Basketball is two games away from completing an undefeated Summit League season. They return to action tomorrow night, hosting the Denver Pioneers.
SDSU defeated Denver 79-42 on January 4th. Brooklyn Meyer posted a double-double in the win with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
