Mount Marty Men’s Basketball had their season come to an end last night with a 76-59 loss to Dordt in the GPAC Tournament.
Sutton Arend posted a double-double in the loss with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Tash Lunday had a team-high 18 points as well. After the game, Lancers head coach Collin Authier spoke about the future of the Lancers’ program.
Mount Marty ends the 2024-25 season with a 10-17 record and a 7-14 record in GPAC play.
Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Basketball return to action tomorrow night to host Spearfish for a doubleheader.
Both Yankton squads are currently on the outside looking in for a SoDak 16 spot with only two games remaining in their seasons.

The South Dakota High School Boys’ and Girls’ Wrestling State Tournaments begin today in Rapid City, with several Bucks and Gazelles set to compete.
Representing the Gazelles this year will be Chloe Caton at 100 pounds, Alexis Brenden at 120 pounds, Madison Brown at 126 pounds, and Winry Yaggie at 145 pounds.
Representing the Bucks will be Devon Coke at 126 pounds, Bode Thurman at 138 pounds, Joelton Reimnitz-Hahn at 144 pounds, Shayce Platt at 157 pounds, CorBin Sayler at 175 pounds, and Edly Amaro at 285 pounds.
Matches will be held at The Monument in Rapid City beginning today at 10:00 AM mountain. The tournament will run through Saturday.
The NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships begin today in Gainesville, Florida, with several Lancers competing in the event.
For the Lancer men, Logan Ferrari will compete in the 3,000 and 5,000 meter runs. Zavio Pratto will run in the 400 meter dash, and Luke Rettedal will compete in the shot put.
For the Lancer women, Alexis Even, Ashinee George, Zelie Sorensen, and Josey Wahlstrom will compete in the 4 by 400 meter relay. Even will also run in the 200 meter dash, with Mya Zohner qualifying for the pole vault.
Events are scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM this morning.
Cedar Catholic Boys’ Basketball looks to move one step closer to the state tournament tonight, as they host West Holt in the Sub-District C2-5 Finals.
The Trojans defeated Wakefield on Tuesday 71-50 to earn a spot in the finals. West Holt picked up a 71-58 win over Ponca in their Semi-Final matchup.

The Hartington-Newcastle Wildcats are set to host Creighton tonight in the Sub-District D1-7 Finals.
The Wildcats advanced to tonight’s game with a 61-47 win over Walthill on Tuesday. Creighton earned their spot by defeating Bloomfield, 47-32. Hartington-Newcastle defeated Creighton in their regular season finale 56-23.

The Cedar Catholic Trojans are one win away from the Nebraska Girls’ Basketball Class D1 State Tournament, as they host Nebraska Christian tomorrow night in the District Finals.
The Trojans are the #6 seed in the District with a 14-11 overall record. Nebraska Christian enters as the #11 seed with a 19-6 record this season.

The Crofton Warriors enter the Class C2 District Finals as the #2 overall seed, as they are set to host #15 Centura tomorrow night with a state tournament bid on the line.
Crofton is 22-3 on the season following their 69-47 Sub-District Final victory over Ord last week. Centura enters the District Final with a 15-11 overall record.

South Dakota Coyotes Men’s Basketball fell to North Dakota State in Fargo last night, 82-78.
Chase Forte led USD with 21 points in the loss. Isaac Bruns added 17 points, while Paul Bruns recorded a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double.
The Coyotes conclude their regular season on Saturday with a Senior Day matchup against North Dakota. Tip-off from Vermillion is set for 4:00 PM.
South Dakota State Mens’ Basketball is on the road in Tulsa, Oklahoma tonight to take on Oral Roberts.
The Jackrabbits defeated Oral Roberts when the two teams met in Brookings 84-70 back on January 18th. Oscar Cluff led SDSU with 21 points and 20 rebounds in the win.

South Dakota State Women’s Basketball is two games away from completing an undefeated Summit League season. They return to action tonight, hosting the Denver Pioneers.
SDSU defeated Denver 79-42 on January 4th. Brooklyn Meyer posted a double-double in the win with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
