Yankton Gazelles Softball improved to 2-1 yesterday with a 9-6 win over the Pierre Governors.
Yankton scored five runs in the 7th inning to complete the comeback win. Kyra Tjeerdsma went 3 for 4 with four RBIs in the win. Madison Girard earned the victory in the circle, striking out six batters.
Next up for the Gazelles is a home matchup with Sioux Falls Jefferson on Monday.
Yankton Bucks Baseball travels to Brookings tomorrow for a Class A doubleheader against the Bobcats.
Yankton and Brookings split their doubleheader last Sunday, with Yankton winning game one 6-1 and Brookings claiming game two 1-0.

Three Yankton Bucks Hockey representatives were part of the Team SD 16-under teams that earned bronze at the USD Hockey National Championship Tournament this past weekend.
Grady Van Cleave and Luke Moeller were both part of the team as players with Skip Moeller serving as a coach.
Luke Moeller went 3-1 in net, making 65 saves with a .855 save percentage. Van Cleave appeared as a defender in four games, team SD tied for the fewest goals allowed in their group.
