Following the completion of its construction, the University of South Dakota hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the Wellness Center Natatorium.
The new facility adds nearly 46,000 square feet to the current Wellness Center and includes features such as a competition pool, wellness pool, aquatic obstacle course, wet classroom, hot tub, steam room, and additional locker rooms.
USD swim and dive team head coach Jason Mahowald says the new facility will benefit not only his team, but the greater Vermillion area.
Mahowald, who was involved in the planning stages of the project, says the facility has already started to meet the program’s needs in multiple ways.
The natatorium is now open to the public. More information is available at usd.edu/natatorium.
