Mount Marty’s Mya Zohner claimed first in the women’s pole vault yesterday on day one of the Red Raider Open in Orange City, Iowa.
Zohner cleared 11 feet, 11 and 3/4ths inches to take the top spot. The Lancer men were led by a 2nd-place finish in the 5,000.
The second and final day of competition is scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM this morning.
Mount Marty’s Luke Rettedal has been named the GPAC Men’s Field Event Athlete of the Week, the league announced yesterday.
Rettedal claimed 1st place in the men’s shot put in two separate meets last week.
Rettedal currently holds the top mark in the GPAC in the shot put and is the lone thrower currently qualified for the NAIA meet in the event.
Yankton Gazelles Golf begins their season today with a tournament hosted by Harrisburg.
The invitational will be held at Spring Creek Country Club beginning at 9:00 AM.
