Mount Marty Baseball went 3-1 this weekend across their doubleheaders against Hastings and Midland.
The Lancers swept Hastings on Friday, winning game one 17-14 and game two 12-8. The Lancers hit five home runs over the two games, with two home runs each for Shugo Kondo and Aidan Chang.
The Lancers continued to show their power at the plate on Saturday, falling to Midland 12-10 in game one before winning game two 14-5. Aidan Chang hit three more home runs across the two games, bringing his season total to seven.
Mount Marty scored a total of 53 runs over the four games. The Lancers return to action this afternoon for a single game against the University of Sioux Falls. First pitch is set for 3:00 PM at Riverside Field.
Yankton Bucks Baseball travels to Chamberlain today for a neutral-site doubleheader against Spearfish.
The Bucks are coming off a doubleheader sweep of Huron last time out. First pitch is set for 1:00 PM this afternoon.
Mount Marty Softball split their doubleheader with Concordia on Saturday, winning game one 2-1 before losing game two 4-3.
Janeah Castro went 2 for 3 at the plate in game one, with McKenzie Gray striking out eight for the complete game victory on the mound.
Kayleen Jacinto led the Lancers in game two, finishing 3 for 4 at the plate with a run scored. Megan Toplovich recorded two RBIs.
The Lancers host Doane for a GPAC doubleheader on Wednesday at Sertoma Park. First pitch is set for 5:00 PM.
Yankton Gazelles Softball travels to Brandon tomorrow afternoon for a matchup with the Brandon Valley Lynx.
The Gazelles enter with a 2-4 overall record. First pitch from Aspen Park is set for 6:00 PM tomorrow.
Mount Marty Men’s Tennis wrapped up the regular season with a 5-2 win over Midland on Friday.
With the win, the Lancers earn the #2 seed in the GPAC tournament for the 2nd straight year.
The GPAC tournament begins on Thursday in Sioux City, Iowa.
Yankton Bucks Tennis travels to Sioux Falls tomorrow for a dual with Sioux Falls Washington.
Matches will be held at Washington High School beginning at 4:00 PM.
The GPAC Men’s Golf Tournament begins today in Beatrice, Nebraska the Mount Marty Lancers sending six athletes to the event.
Ted Bengston, Wout Kerkhofs, Jimmie Cunningham, Hunter Bailey, and Lane Tvedt will represent the Lancers, with Carson Pedersen listed as a sub.
Lane Tvedt will be the first Lancer to tee off at 9:00 AM. The GPAC Tournament is being held at the Beatrice Country Club.
Yankton Gazelles Golf will compete against Brandon Valley, Brookings, and Harrisburg tomorrow at Spring Creek Country Club in Harrisburg. Tee time is set for 9:00 AM this morning.
Yankton Track and Field will host Brandon Valley, O’Gorman, and Sioux Falls Washington for a varsity meet tomorrow.
Events will be held at Williams Field. Field competitions begin at 3:45 with running events set for 4:00.
