There were 91 positive tests of COVID-19 in Yankton County over the past two days and the number of active cases has jumped up to a record-high 465. Clay County reported 42 new positive tests and now has 269 active cases.
South Dakota now has 16,382 active cases of COVID-19 and there are 569 people hospitalized with the virus in the state.
There were 39 more fatalities in South Dakota since Wednesday’s report and the death toll is now up to 888 in the state. Well over half of South Dakota’s deaths from COVID-19 have occurred this month. Four of those deaths were in Turner County, which now has 40 overall and 22 in the month of November.
Two additional deaths were confirmed yesterday in Nebraska where the death toll from the virus stands at 984. The state of Iowa has a total of 2,352 deaths from COVID-19 after 37 additional fatalities were added to the total yesterday. There were seven more deaths from the virus in Sioux City in the past two days and the death toll in Woodbury County is up to 124.
