The Yankton County Commission will again meet in special session this Friday morning to hear more from the public on Article 5 of the county’s zoning ordinance which regulates production livestock agriculture.
Commission Chair Cheri Loest says during the first meeting on Article 5, the issue of acceptable lot sizes for rural areas of the county was discussed.
Loest says the idea of requiring people who re-locate into an area zoned for agriculture to sign an agricultural covenant received support from the ag-producers present at the meeting.
Loest says gathering the input from a cross-section of county residents is important to the process.
The Yankton County Commission meets in special session at 9 AM Friday at the Yankton County Government Center.
