After losing two games by a total of four points, top-seed Vermillion routed Winner 78-49 to finish seventh Saturday at the Class A state tournament.
Fourth-seed Viborg-Hurley took fourth place at the Class B state tourney as Dell Rapids St. Mary defeated the Cougars 76-58 in the third place game on Saturday.
All of the boys state tournament championship games were decided by big margins on Saturday. Sioux Falls Roosevelt whipped Sioux Falls O’Gorman 60-37 in the Class AA final, Sioux Falls Christian routed Sioux Valley 84-50 to win the Class A title, and DeSmet topped Aberdeen Christian 59-43 in the Class B championship.
