Gayville’s Fire Chief has passed away. Lonny Lee passed away unexpectant on Wednesday.
Lee served on both the Gayville Fire and Rescue Department for the last 30 years and was their current active fire chief.
Yankton Assistant Fire Chief Larry Nickles says he has worked closely for over thirty years. Nickles says Lee “did a great job and will surely be missed.”
Lee has been Gayville’s fire chief for just over a year, previously serving as Gayville’s assistant fire chief.
Lee was also a local business owner as well, owning L and L Machine Shop in Yankton.
Funeral services for Lee will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Gayville-Volin school gymnasium in Gayville
