- Yankton Legion Baseball fell to Mitchell 4-1 and 7-1 in Class A double-header action this past Friday, concluding the home portion of their regular season schedule. Yankton now has a stretch of road matchups before playoff play, beginning with a trip to the Twin Cities for the Gopher Classic, beginning Friday. Yankton will begin pool play with Forest Lake and Mankato National on Friday, Fargo Post 400 on Saturday, and Thunder Bay Ontario and Hopkins on Sunday. Yankton is now 19-10 overall this season.
- Yankton Fury Red suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Kansas City Heat Wave in the B-Class 18-under championship of the Ringneck softball tournament, Sunday in Sioux Falls. Leading Yankton offensively was Elle Feser and Tori Vellek, who both doubled and singled. Regan Garry took the loss on the mound.
- South Central League Baseball was back in action over the holiday weekend, with Wynot defeating Crofton 13-5 and Tabor defeating Freeman 2-1 on Sunday.
