The petition deadline to run for Yankton City Commission is Friday.
City Manager Amy Leon says that in order for a petition to be accepted, it must have at least 50 valid signatures.
Leon says that they have six valid petitions so far.
Leon says that she expects the city to hold an official election on April 11th because the city needed three valid petitions to hold an election, but can’t say for sure until after the petition deadline.
Petitions are due to city hall by 5 pm on Friday.
