The Mount Marty Lancers had a GPAC high 12 student athletes honored as All-America Scholar-Athletes by the NAIA.

            Those Lancers named to the list were grad student Cooper Davis, seniors Chris Rofe, Jett Hasegawa, Mitchell Noem and Tyler Linch, juniors Clayton Chipchase, Ethan Wishon, Myles Brown and Will Rauch, and sophomores Jackson Noem, Kannon Dumont and Zach Hegge.

            Yankton Post 12 legion baseball are on the road this afternoon, as they are scheduled to take on Mitchell Post 18. First pitch is set for 2:00 PM.

The Yankton Fury Black softball team will open their summer season today with a road double header against the Wayne Dirt Devils. First pitch of game one from Wayne, Nebraska is set for 6:30 PM.

The South Dakota all-state teams for classes AA, A, and B were released yesterday, and several area class B athletes from Bon Homme, Gayville-Volin, and Scotland-Menno were honored.

For Bon Homme:

  • Jurni Vavruska and Kenadee Kozak made the team with Netty Myers earning an honorable mention.

For Gayville-Volin:

  • Alya Dimmer was named all-state as a designated player, while Andrea Miller was an honorable mention.

For Scotland-Menno:

  • Nora Robb and Bailey Vitex earned all-state honors.

            University of South Dakota outfielders Courtney Wilson and Gabby Moser were named to the all-academic team for Summit League softball, the conference announced yesterday.

            Wilson maintained a 4.0 GPA during her time at USD, and was named Scholar of the Championship at last month’s Summit League Tournament. Moser held a 3.80 cumulative grade point average entering her spring semester at USD, as she majors in biomedical engineering.

South Central Baseball League schedule for this evening:

  • Yankton is on the road against Lesterville in a battle between the only two undefeated teams in the league.
  • Crofton looks to grab their second win in a row, as they will host Tabor.
