Dry weather conditions have been a common theme in South Dakota over the past few months and Yankton has been no exception.
According to the National Drought Information System, Yankton County is in a severe drought.
Kelo Meteorologist Scot Mundt says that since March, Yankton is down 5.7 inches of rainfall compared to past years.
Mundt says that one thing helping with moisture is the high amount of snowfall Yankton received this year.
Mundt says that he is forecasting rainfall for Yankton the next two weekends.
