Mount Marty University has announced that Augusto Vinueza (Veen-way-za) will be the next head coach of the Lancers men’s and women’s tennis teams, beginning next season.
Vinueza has spent the last six years coaching tennis at various levels, and was a highly ranked 16u and 18u player in his native Ecuador. Off the courts Vinueza has a dual degree in Business Administration and Sports Management from Lewis-Clark State College, and a masters in Sport Marketing & Law from ESNECA Institute in Spain.
Yankton Post 12 will play their final home games of the regular season tonight, as they host Brandon Valley in a double header.
Yankton enters the pair of games 20 and 11 overall, and 4th in the latest class A standings, while Brandon Valley currently occupy the 6th spot, with a record of 19 and 15.

Former South Dakota State pitcher Ryan Bourassa (Bur-ah-sa) signed a free agent contract with the Atlanta Braves yesterday, following the conclusion of the 2023 MLB draft.
Bourassa, a West Fargo, ND native, was a member of the All-Summit first team in 2022, and wrote his name across the SDSU record books during his time in Brookings, as he ranks top four in strikeouts and saves in program history. Bourassa’s ratio of 13.75 strikeouts per nine innings also ranks the highest in SDSU history among pitchers who threw more than seventy-five innings.
Six Summit League baseball players were selected in this year’s MLB draft, including four from the conference champions, Oral Roberts.
Of the six selections, Mike Boeve (Bo-vee) of Omaha went first, as he was a second round pick by the Milwaukee Brewers. He was followed on day two of the draft by a trio of Oral Roberts players. Jonah Cox was selected by the Oakland A’s, Cade Denton was drafted by the Colorado Rockies, and Jacob Widener was picked up by the Kansas City Royals.
Mac McCroskey was the last Golden Eagle selected, as he was picked by the Angels on day three, while North Dakota State pitcher Cade Feeney rounded out the Summit League draftees, as he was selected by the Boston Red Sox.
