The South Dakota Department of Transportation (DOT) has announced that chip and fog seal projects are set to begin in the Yankton area Monday.
Greg Rothschadl with the DOT says that chip and fog seal projects are done to help preserve pavement on asphalt roadways.
Rothschadl says that the project will impact several surrounding highways.
Rothschadl says that no highways will be closed, but delays, lower speed limits, and one lane traffic is expected.
Rothschadl says that the project is estimated to be completed this October.
