The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles soccer teams split their double header with Watertown last night, as the Gazelles fell 3 to 2, while the Bucks took home a 4 to 1 victory.
Keira Christ and Iyana Becker scored for the Gazelles in their game, while Christian Pacheco and Tony Guitron tallied two goals apiece, as they both nabbed a brace in the Bucks win. The Gazelles are 0 and 3 following the loss, while the Bucks move to 2 and 1 on the year.
Due to Monday’s double header with West Central being postponed, both the Bucks and Gazelles are off until next Friday, as both teams travel west for a double header against Douglas.
Mount Marty Volleyball begins their season with a pair of games today, as they are in Illinois to open the year.
The Lancers The Lancers will meet Olivet Nazarene University in match one at 3:00 PM, and the Calumet College of St. Joseph at 5:00 in match two. MMU will play two more matches tomorrow, as they take on Governor State University and York.
The Yankton Bucks football team will host a scrimmage tonight at Crane-Youngworth Field at 7:00 PM.
The Bucks open the 2023 football season next Friday night as they host the Mitchell Kernels.
The Yankton Gazelles tennis team is now 4 and 2 on the young season, as they dropped their first duels of the season yesterday against Watertown 7 to 2, and Rapid City Stevens 6 to 3.
Nora Krajewski (Kra-ski) won both of her singles matches on the day, and teamed up with Sabrina Krajewski for a doubles win against Stevens. Sabrina Krajewski and Karalyn Koerner also earned singles victories during the meet.
The Gazelles are off until next Friday, where they will travel to Brookings for a two-day event.
The Yankton Bucks golf team will host an event at Fox Run Golf Course at 10:00 AM this morning.
Yankton is scheduled to compete against Brandon Valley, Harrisburg, Sioux Falls Lincoln, and Sioux Falls Washington during the event.
