The Yankton Bucks football team will play their first road game of the year this evening as they travel to Watertown for a meeting with the Arrows.
Both the Bucks enter the matchup 2 and 0 on the year, and are ranked in the latest class 11-AA media polls.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM this evening, with pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV beginning at 6:00. Bryce Ladwig and Josh Boelter will be on the call.
The Mount Marty Lancers football team are 2 and 0 to start the season, coming off of their 40 to 14 victory over Briar Cliff last week, as they hit the road to face Dordt University tomorrow afternoon.
The Lancers look to extend their win streak to three straight this season, and win back-to-back GPAC games for the first time in school history.
Kickoff from Sioux Center, Iowa is scheduled for 1:00 PM on Saturday, with pregame coverage beginning at noon. Steve Thum and Tehl Tanner will be on the call.
The Yankton Bucks and Gazelles soccer teams swept Brookings yesterday, as the Bucks won 8 to 2, with the Gazelles securing a 1 to 0 victory over the Bobcats.
Eight different Bucks scored in yesterday’s match, while the Gazelles lone goal came from Josslyn Elwood two minutes into the first half off of a free kick.
The Bucks and Gazelles will be on the road for their next matches, as they travel to Huron next Tuesday to battle the Tigers.
Mount Marty women’s golf set a new school record yesterday, as they shot a final round 315 as a team to finish 3rd in the Siouxland Invitational, with Lancer Kelsey Heath taking home the individual title.
Heath shot a final round 74 to finish at 5-over in the tournament, claiming her 5th individual title in her Mount Marty career. Also finishing in the top-25 for the Lancers were Tanna Lehfeldt in 16th, and Tatum Jensen in 22nd.
The Lancers next scheduled competition is the Northwest Iowa National Invitational, September 18th and 19th at Willow Creek Golf Course in LeMars, Iowa.
Yankton competitive cheer and dance hosted their home meet yesterday, claiming 4th out of 9 teams in the dance competition and 6th out of 11 teams in cheer.
Yankton posted a score of 253.25 in dance, and tallied a score of 197.5 in cheer. Dakota Valley won the team title in dance, while Sioux Falls Jefferson took home the cheer championship.
Yankton will next compete next Tuesday in the Brandon Valley Invite.
Yankton Gazelles volleyball will host Sioux Falls Washington tonight at the Summit Activities Center in Yankton. First serve is set for 7:00 PM.
Yankton Bucks golf will welcome fifteen other schools to town this morning, as they host a home invitational at Fox Run Golf Course. Tee time for the competition is set for 10:00 AM.
Yankton Gazelles tennis will travel to Sioux Falls today for a duel today against Sioux Falls Roosevelt. Today’s duel will be held at Kuehn Park in Sioux Falls, beginning at 12:00 PM noon.
Yankton Bucks and Gazelles cross country will compete tomorrow morning, as they travel to Brandon for a meet against Brandon Valley and Brookings.
The varsity boys will run first at 9:30 AM, with the varsity girls competing at 9:55. Tomorrow’s competition will be held at Brandon McHardy Park.
Mount Marty men’s and women’s soccer will play their first home matches of the season this evening, as they host Bethany College for a double header at Crane-Youngworth Field. Kickoff of game one is set for 5:00 PM, with game two set to begin at 7:30.
Mount Marty men’s and women’s cross country will compete in the Holiday Inn Sunflower Opener tomorrow morning in Sioux Center, Iowa. Tomorrow’s event is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM.
Mount Marty men’s tennis open their 2023 season tomorrow morning, as they have a duel scheduled with Bethany Lutheran College to begin the year. Tomorrow’s duel will be held in Mankato, Minnesota.
