Avera has announced that James “Jim” Dover has been named as the next President and CEO of Avera Health.
Dover has served as a health care executive with more than 30 years of experience serving in leadership positions across a wide array of hospital and health systems.
Dover said Wednesday that he is “humbled and honored to lead such a remarkable organization” and that he “looks forward to helping ensure its future success.”
Avera Sacred Heart Regional President and CEO, Doug Ekeren, says that he is excited to have Dover join the Avera family.
Dover joins Avera following Bob Sutton’s resignation early this year due to a serious health issue.
Dover’s first day with Avera will be October 23rd.
