Mount Marty Lancers volleyball returns to the court tonight, as they host Hastings College inside Cimpl Arena.

            The Lancers enter the contest 8th in the GPAC record, as they are 10 and 14 overall on the season, with a 3 and 7 conference record.

            First serve is set for 7:30 PM this evening, with pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV beginning at 7:00. Tehl Tanner will be on the call.

            Mount Marty golf wrapped up the Jamestown Invitational yesterday, as the women took home 2nd place, with the men finishing 6th.

            MMU’s Kelsey Heath was the individual tournament champion on the women’s side to wrap up the fall golf season for the Lancers. Caitlyn Stimpson, 5th, and Abby Grenhoff, 10th, also earned top-10 finishes for the Lancers. On the men’s side, Jimmie Cunnigham was the highest finishing Lancer, ending the tournament tied for 12th.

            Yesterday’s final round officially wraps up the fall slate for Mount Marty men’s and women’s golf.

            Mount Marty men’s and women’s soccer are at home tonight, as they host Jamestown for a double header.

The men will play first at 5:00 PM with the women’s match scheduled to begin at 7:15. Both games will be held at Crane-Youngworth Field.

            Yankton Gazelles volleyball return home tomorrow night, as they host Pierre inside the Summit Activities Center in Yankton.

            First serve between the Gazelles and Governors is set for 7:00 PM, with pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV beginning at 6:30. Brayden Butler will be on the call.

            Yankton Bucks and Gazelles cross country will compete in Huron tomorrow afternoon. Races are scheduled to begin at 4:00 PM at Broadland Creek Golf Course.

            Yankton High School competitive cheer and dance are scheduled to make the trip to Aberdeen tomorrow afternoon for the Eastern South Dakota Conference meet. Events are scheduled to be held at Aberdeen Central High School, beginning at 5:00 PM.

            A pair of South Dakota Coyotes women’s basketball players were picked yesterday as preseason All-Conference players ahead of the 2023 season, as Junior Grace Larkins was named to the 1st team, with Sophomore Carley Duffney on the 2nd team.

            Along with the individual recognition of Larkins and Duffney, the Coyote women were picked to finish 3rd in the Summit League this season. The Coyotes open their 2023 campaign in early November.

The South Dakota State Jackrabbits men’s and women’s basketball teams have been predicted to sweep the Summit League championships this year, as both teams were selected as preseason favorites to take the conference crown.

            The Jackrabbit women, who finished the 2022-23 League season with an 18-0 record, going unbeaten for the second time in three years, sat atop the poll after receiving 27 of the 36 first-place votes. The SDSU men earned 27 of a possible 36 first-place votes as well, as they finished second a season ago in the regular season standings.

            Both teams officially begin their 2023 seasons in early November.
