Two Arrested in Threat Made Towards Yankton High School

An arrest has been made in a threat that was made Wednesday that resulted in a lockdown throughout the Yankton School District.

The soft lockdown was a result of a threat that was received at the Yankton High School, which YSD Superintendent, Dr. Wayne Kindle, says was a phone call that sounded to be from an automated voice.

Yankton Police Chief, Jason Foote, says that after a tip was received by a YPD School Resource Officer, they were able to identify and arrest two suspects, Helen Gonzalez Moya, 18, and a juvenile female for their involvement in the threat.

Foote says that Moya and the juvenile have been charged with a violation of Aggravated Assault and a Terrorist Threat.
