The Mount Marty Women’s Basketball team had a historic night last night, setting new program records for largest margin of victory, and fewest points allowed in a single game with a 100 to 9 win over Union College.

            A pair of freshmen led the way for the Lancer women, as Isabelle Ellwein (El-wine) scored 20 points to lead MMU in scoring, followed by Jadyn Jensen who had 16 points and 8 rebounds in the win. Kyra Griese would be the one to put the final touch on the historic night, as her bucket late in the 4th quarter put the Lancers right at the century mark on the scoreboard.

            The Lancer women will return to action on Saturday, as they face Valley City State University inside the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls.

Mount Marty Men’s Basketball scored the second most points in a single game in program history last night, as they defeated Union College 122 to 63.

            Tash Lunday led the Lancers with 21 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists in the win. Junior transfer Jared Lopez put up 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals in his second game as a Lancer. One of those steals led to a fast break dunk that rocked Cimpl Arena in the first half.

            The Lancer men will be in Sioux Falls for their next game, as they take on Valley City State inside the Sanford Pentagon on Saturday.

            Yankton Gazelles Volleyball carry an eight match win streak into their final home game of the season tonight, as they take on the Brookings Bobcats.

            First serve from the Summit Activities Center is set for 7:00 PM this evening. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 6:30. Brayden Butler will be on the call.

            Mount Marty volleyball have their final match of the season this evening, as they take on Doane in Crete, Nebraska.

            The Lancers carry a 10 and 20 record into the contest, with their 10 wins this year already the most in a single season since 2014. First serve between the Lancers and Doane is set for 7:30 PM.

            The Yankton Quarterback Club will host their weekly meeting at noon tomorrow at the River Rock Event Center on Broadway in Yankton.

            This week’s featured guest speaker will be LeAnne Williamson, the head coach for USD Coyotes volleyball.
