Mount Marty Men’s Basketball fell to Morningside University over the weekend, 100 to 71.
Tash Lunday led the Lancers in scoring, rebounding, and assists in the game, as he recorded 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists in 29 minutes.
MMU will be on the road again tomorrow night, as they take on Doane University. The game will be the second half of a Men’s/Women’s double header. Coverage on KYNT begins at 5:30 PM. Tehl Tanner will be on the call.

The U-S-D Coyotes were knocked out of the Summit League volleyball tournament Sunday by fifth seed North Dakota State. The Bison removed the Coyotes in five sets, 29-27, 15-25, 17-25, 25-23, 15-7. The Coyotes were #4 seed and tournament host. They end their season 18-10.
The Wynot Blue Devils will compete for their first Class D2 Football State Title in school history this afternoon, as they take on Sandhills-Thedford at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln.
Wynot enters their inaugural title game with an undefeated, 12 and 0 record, coming off of a 22 to 14 victory over Howells-Dodge in the Semifinals. The Blue Devils have had only four victories decided by less than 20-points this season, as their average margin of victory is +23.5.
The Class D2 State Title Game between Wynot and Sandhills-Thedford is scheduled for 2:45 PM this afternoon at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Gayville-Volin Freshman Outside Hitter Maia Achen (My-uh A-ken) was named to the All-Tournament team following the conclusion of the Volleyball State Tournament over the weekend, as the Raiders finished 8th in Class B.
This was the first trip to the State Tournament in school history for the Raiders. They were led by first year head coach Allison Jones, and finished the season with a 21 and 14 record.

The FCS Playoff Brackets were released yesterday, and both South Dakota and South Dakota State are top-8 seeds, and receive a first round bye.
USD will be the #3 seed in the playoffs, earning their first round bye with a 9 and 2 overall record. Their only losses coming to SDSU and the current #10 team in the FBS Missouri. The Coyotes will face the winner of North Dakota vs Sacramento State in round two.
SDSU enter as the #1 seed and the only undefeated team in the playoffs. SDSU went 11 and 0 on the year, with their closest game being a 4-point win over #6 Montana State. One of only two games that ended within ten points for the Jackrabbits. SDSU will play the winner of Gardner-Webb vs Mercer in round two.
South Dakota Men’s Basketball ended the Arizona Tip Off at 1 and 1 on Saturday, as they were defeated by Purdue Fort Wayne 93 to 81.
Coyote Max Burchill scored a team and career high 18 points in the game. Forward Lahat Thioune (La-hot Toon) had his 3-game double-double streak ended in the loss, as he finished with 8 points and 13 rebounds.
The Coyotes return home on Wednesday afternoon, as they host Northland College at 1:00 PM.
South Dakota Women’s Basketball are 1 and 1 in the Battle 4 Atlantis, as they defeated DePaul on Saturday 83 to 71, before falling to Michigan yesterday, 70 to 52.
In the win over DePaul, Grace Larkins led the Coyotes with 23 points, 8 assists, and 6 rebounds. Tori DePerry led USD in their loss to Michigan, scoring 16 points.
The Coyotes end the Battle 4 Atlantis this afternoon against Arizona.
South Dakota State Men’s Basketball fell to UCF yesterday, 83 to 80, in the first game of the Jacksonville Classic.
The Jackrabbits had four players crack double digits in scoring, led by Charlie Easley, who recorded 21 points and 6 rebounds in the loss.
SDSU wraps up the Jacksonville Classic tonight at 5:00 PM against George Mason.
South Dakota State Women’s Basketball moved to 2 and 1 on Saturday, as they defeated UT Martin 55 to 38.
Mesa Byom (By-um) was the lone Jackrabbit to score in double figures, as she had tallied 14 points. Brooklyn Meyer finished just shy of a double-double with 9 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 blocks.
SDSU will be on the road again tonight, as they travel to Columbia, South Carolina, to take on the #1 ranked South Carolina Gamecocks.

In Class AA:
- #1 Harrisburg defeated #3 Sioux Falls Washington 3-1 to claim the state title, completing an undefeated season. Sioux Falls Washington finish as the Runners-Up
- #2 Sioux Falls Jefferson swept #5 O’Gorman in the 3rd place game. O’Gorman finished 4th with the loss.
- #4 Watertown defeated #10 Brandon Valley 3-1 to claim 5th place, Brandon Valley finished 6th.
- #6 Sioux Falls Lincoln defeated #8 Aberdeen Central 3-1 in the 7th place game. Aberdeen finished in 8th.
In Class A:
- #1 Sioux Falls Christian claimed their 7th straight state title with a 3-1 win over #2 Rapid City Christian. Rapid City Christian finished as the Runners-Up.
- #5 Dell Rapids swept #3 Miller in the 3rd place game. Miller finished 4th.
- #7 Dakota Valley topped #4 Platte-Geddes 3-1 to take home 5th. Platte-Geddes finished in 6th.
- #6 Wagner defeated #8 Lennox 3-0 to finish in 7th. Lennox ended the tournament in 8th.
In Class B:
- #2 Chester upset #1 Warner 3-2 to be crowned state champions. Warner finished as the Runners-Up with the loss.
- #4 Burke defeated #6 Castlewood 3-0 to finish 3rd in the tournament. Castlewood finished in 4th.
- #3 Colman-Egan beat #5 Wolsey-Wessington 3-2 in the 5th place match. Wolsey-Wessington finished in 6th.
- #7 Faulkton Area defeated #8 Gayville-Volin in straight sets in the 7th place match. Gayville-Volin ended the tournament in 8th.
