Avera Sacred Heart Hospital held a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday to celebrate the completion of a remodeling project in their Emergency Department.
Sacred Heart Regional President and CEO, Doug Ekeren, says that the goal of the remodeling was to improve security, privacy and workflow for caregivers, patients and visitors.
Ekeren says that the Yankton community raised nearly $320,000 for the project through the Avera Foundation capital campaign.
The Emergency Department remodeling project cost a total of $500,000.
