Larry Nickles has announced his retirement as Yankton’s Deputy Fire Chief after 27 years in the role.
Nickles, who started as a volunteer firefighter in Yankton in 1979, says that the Yankton Fire Department has always felt like home to him.
Nickles says that he is thankful that he got to serve the Yankton community for 44 years.
Nickles’ retirement will go into effect January 5th.
