Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Basketball will be on the road tomorrow night to take on the Mitchell Kernels in an ESD double-header.

Both the Bucks and Gazelles look to get back into the win column following losses in their last games. The Mitchell boys enter the game with a 5 and 1 record following a loss to Harrisburg on Tuesday, while the Kernel girls are undefeated at 6 and 0.

The Gazelles will play first at 6:00 PM tomorrow with the Bucks to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT and KYNTV begins at 5:30. Bryce Ladwig will be on the call.

Yankton Bucks and Gazelles Wrestling hit the mats tonight, as they host Mitchell and Harrisburg for a triangular at Yankton High School.

Yankton’s first dual will be against Mitchell at 5:00 PM, before ending the night with a dual against Harrisburg. Between Yankton’s duals, Mitchell and Harrisburg will square off against each other.

The FCS National Title Game will take place on Sunday, January 7th, as the South Dakota State Jackrabbits take on the Montana Grizzlies at 1:00 PM in Frisco, Texas.

SDSU enters the game undefeated on the season, looking to secure their second straight National Title. The Jackrabbits have won their last 28 games dating back to the start of last season, and haven’t dropped a game to FCS opposition since December 18th, 2021.

Montana comes into the championship game with a 13 and 1 overall record, having won 10 straight since their lone loss to Northern Arizona in September. The Grizzlies are hunting for their third National Championship in program history.

South Dakota Men’s Basketball was defeated by Eastern Washington last night, as the Eagles left Vermillion with a 93 to 79 victory.

Bostyn Holt would lead the Coyote offense on the night, as he posted a career-high 30 points in the loss. USD falls to 8 and 8 on the year with the loss.

Next up for the Yotes is a road game against Montana on Saturday.

South Dakota Women’s Basketball fell to the Montana Grizzlies last night, as Montana outscored the Coyotes 19 to 5 in the 4th quarter to secure a 74 to 61 win.

Kendall Holmes led USD in scoring with 15 points on the night. Grace Larkins held the team-high in rebounds with 14 and assists with 9.

USD, now 11 and 5 on the year, returns home on Saturday to play Idaho State.

South Dakota State Men’s Basketball was edged out by Weber State last night 75 to 73, as Wildcat Dillon Jones hit the game-winning shot with time winding down in the contest.

Zeke Mayo posted 20 points and 5 rebounds for the Jacks in the loss. William Kyle III, 15, and Luke Appel, 13, also scored in double figures for SDSU.

SDSU will be back home on Saturday, as they host Montana State.

South Dakota State Women’s Basketball outlasted Northern Arizona in a double-overtime thriller last night, securing a 110 to 102 road victory.

Paige Meyer had a game-high 37 points in the victory, setting a new career high for the Junior Guard. Brooklyn Meyer also had a big night, securing a 22-point, 11-rebound double-double.

SDSU will be back home on Saturday, as they host Montana State.
