Yankton Bucks Basketball returns home tomorrow night, as they host the Sioux Falls Jefferson Cavaliers inside the Summit Activities Center.
The Bucks are 1 and 6 on the year, having not played since January 5th following the postponement of games against Watertown and O’Gorman. The Cavaliers enter tonight’s game at 4 and 4 on the year.

The Mount Marty Lancers Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams were meant to travel to Jamestown, North Dakota for a doubleheader against Jamestown on Saturday. However, that has been postponed due to severe weather over the weekend.
The MMU-Jamestown doubleheader will occur on Monday, January 29th in Jamestown, ND. Next up for the Lancers is a road doubleheader on Wednesday against Midland University.
Mount Marty Track and Field had their Mount Marty Opener canceled on Saturday due to severe weather in the Yankton area, the Lancers will next compete on January 20th in the Jim Emmerich Invitational in Brookings.
Yankton Gymnastics will compete in a triangular, as they host O’Gorman and Vermillion at the River City Gymnastics Center in Yankton. Events are scheduled to begin at 5:30 PM in Yankton.
South Dakota State Men’s Basketball fell to Denver over the weekend, as the Pioneers defeated the Jackrabbits 99 to 80.
William Kyle III led the Jacks with 26 points and 8 rebounds on the night, a team-high in both categories. Zeke Mayo added 19 points and a pair of steals.
SDSU will host Omaha for their next game on Thursday night.
South Dakota State Women’s Basketball defeated the Denver Pioneers over the weekend, 68 to 50.
The Jackrabbits had five different players crack double-digits in scoring on the night, led by 17 points from Paige Meyer. Meyer also recorded a team-high 4 steals and tallied 3 assists.
Next up for SDSU is a road game against Omaha on Thursday night.
Milbank South Dakota native Kalen DeBoer has been announced as the newest head coach of the University of Alabama, taking over following Nick Saban’s retirement.
DeBoer, whose first head coaching job was at the University of Sioux Falls from 2005-2009, holds a collegiate coaching record of 104 and 12, including an NCAA National Championship game appearance with the Washington Huskies last season. DeBoer is a two-time Pac-12 Coach of the Year and is the reigning NCAA Coach of the Year, as chosen by multiple national outlets.
DeBoer takes over a Crimson Tide program that went 201 and 29 under Nick Saban, including 11 SEC Titles, and 6 National Championship victories.
