Yankton Bucks Basketball fell in overtime to Sioux Falls Jefferson last night, with the Cavaliers taking a 63 to 60 win.
Landon Potts led the Bucks as he scored a game-high 28 points, including a buzzer-beating shot from near half-court to send the game to overtime.
Along with Potts, Carson Ness added 13 points and 7 rebounds. Tucker Gilmore also cracked double figures with 10 points.
Next up for the Bucks is a road game on Friday night against the Sioux Falls Roosevelt Roughriders.
Yankton Gazelles Basketball was defeated by Sioux Falls Jefferson last night, as the Cavs defended their home court with a 59 to 26 victory.
Eden Wolfgram led Yankton in scoring with 11 points on the night, while Jefferson’s Brinley Altenburg led all scorers with 23 points of her own.
Yankton returns home on Friday, as they host the Sioux Falls Roosevelt Roughriders inside the Summit Activities Center.
Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Basketball travel to Fremont, Nebraska this evening for a GPAC doubleheader against Midland University.
The Lancer men and women are both 1 and 7 on conference play. The MMU men are currently 11th in the GPAC, with the MMU women in 10th. Midland’s men sit in 9th, while their women’s team is 11th in the conference.
The women will play first at 6:00 PM with the men to follow. Pregame coverage on KYNT begins at 5:15. Tehl Tanner will be on the call.
Yankton Gazelles Gymnastics picked up a victory in their home triangular last night, posting a score of 136.45 as a team.
Yankton’s Ava Koller took the top spot on bars, beam, and in her floor routine, and had the highest all-around score of the meet at 35.8, in what was her last home meet as a Gazelle.
Yankton will be in action again tomorrow, as they are in Hendricks, Minnesota for a Quadrangular against Estelline-Hendricks, Sioux Falls Lincoln, and Sioux Falls Washington
The Yankton Quarterback Club will host their weekly meeting at noon today at the River Rock Event Center on Broadway.
This week’s featured guest speakers will be YHS Head Boys Basketball Coach Chris Haynes and YHS senior and 2024 Paralympic Badminton hopeful Miles Krajewski (Kra-ski).
Severe winter weather in the area has caused more athletic events to be rescheduled for multiple area schools in Nebraska.
- The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge @ Hartington-Newcastle basketball doubleheader that had been rescheduled for last night was called off again. The girls’ game has been canceled, while the boys’ game was rescheduled for February 12th.
- The Creighton @ Wynot basketball doubleheader scheduled for yesterday has been postponed with no makeup date set at this time.
