With temperatures that reached well below zero last weekend, the Missouri River has frozen over near the Gavin’s Point Damn. Something that John Remus with the U.S. Corps of Engineers says is a rare occurrence.
Remus advises against walking out on the ice near the dam.
Remus says that with warmer temperatures in the forecast, the ice near the dam should met away sometime next week.
