Mount Marty Men’s and Women’s Basketball will be on the road this evening for a GPAC doubleheader against Concordia.
Both Lancer squads are coming off of losses to Dakota Wesleyan over the weekend, while both the Concordia men and women were able to defeat Briar Cliff in their last games. Concordia swept the Lancers in their doubleheader in Yankton earlier this year.
The women will play first at 6:00 PM with the men to follow, pregame coverage on KYNT begins at 5:15. Tehl Tanner will be on the call.
Yankton Gymnastics competed in a duel against O’Gorman on Monday, with Gazelles senior Ava Koller taking the top spot in the all-around competition.
Koller posted a final score of 35.5 to win the event. Koller won the vault, beam, and floor events en route to her all-around victory. Elli Drotzmann was the 2nd highest-finishing Gazelle in the all-around, coming home in 5th. The Gazelles were outscored as a team by O’Gorman, 137.5 to 129.75.
Yankton is back on the road tomorrow for a triangular with Sisseton and host Estelline-Hendricks, in Hendricks, Minnesota. Events begin at 6:30 PM.
Yankton Bucks Wrestling fell to Aberdeen Central 73 to 3 and Brandon Valley 61 to 12 in their triangular last night.
Shayce Platt picked up the lone victory for the Bucks in their duel with Aberdeen, securing a decision win. Platt would go 2 and 0 with a pinfall victory in the Brandon Valley duel. Dylan Sloan also picked up a Buck win over the Lynx.
Next up for Yankton is an invitational in Brookings on Saturday.
Yankton Gazelles Wrestling won two of their three matches last night in a duel with Aberdeen Central but fell in the duel on forfeited points due to Yankton only fielding three wrestlers.
Winry Yaggie and Jaclyn Kite picked up the match wins for the Gazelles, with Yaggie winning by pinfall and Kite securing a major decision. Due to weight classes not lining up between the two schools, Yankton had no matches against Brandon Valley during the event.
Next up for Yankton is an invitational in Brookings on Saturday.
The Yankton Quarterback Club will host their annual meeting at noon today at the River Rock Event Center in Yankton. Today’s featured guest speakers will be YHS Head Girls Basketball Coach Matt Decker and YHS Head Wrestling Coach Robert Coyle.
Yankton Bucks Hockey defeated Huron last night 6 to 2 thanks to a hat trick from Jace Sedlacek.
Kaden Hunhoff, Jack Pedersen, and Tucker Renken scored the other three goals for the Bucks, with Hunhoff dishing 3 assists as well.
Yankton, now 2 and 9 on the year, are back in action on Friday as they host Rushmore at 7:45 PM at the Kiwanis 4-H Ice Center in Yankton.
South Dakota Men’s Basketball will be on the road tomorrow night for a Summit League matchup with the Denver Pioneers. Tipoff from Denver, Colorado is scheduled for 8:00 PM.
South Dakota Women’s Basketball are at home tomorrow night, as they host the Denver Pioneers inside the Sanford Coyote Sports Center in Vermillion. Tipoff is slated for 7:00 PM.
South Dakota State Men’s Basketball returns home to Frost Arena tomorrow night, as they host the Kansas City Roos. Tipoff is set for 6:00 PM.
